Student Research Opportunities

Our students have several opportunities and avenues where they can get involved with our department's research.

There are openings for students to work as research assistants in our research labs. View the list of our research labs and contact the professor in charge of the lab where you'd like to work.

As an undergraduate student, you can earn up to 6 hours of credits by conducting independent research (PSYC497, PSYC498) with faculty members or volunteer in a research lab, and may want to write an undergraduate honors thesis based on your research.

We encourage graduate students to participate in research labs and work with faculty on a range of research topics. Graduate students are also expected to conduct original research for their thesis. Students who are intended to pursue graduate studies and interested in research also are encouraged to check McNair Program which prepares students for graduate studies.
