Organizations & Associations
Getting involved with your department and your University is a great way to learn beyond the classroom, try new things, and find friends with the same interests as you.
Here are the student organizations within the Department of Psychology.
Psi Chi
Psi Chi is the national honor society in psychology whose purpose is to recognize and promote excellence in the science and application of psychology in terms of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of psychology.

In additional, psychology students have been actively engaged in campus-wise student organizations, including:
- V-Day Lafayette
- Actively Moving Forward
- NAMI on campus
- Students for the Autism Society
- Pre-Professional Society (It is STRONGLY recommended that pre-med students get involved in this organization; your ability to get into medical school could depend on it.)
- Regional professional organizations, including Southeastern Psychological Association, Southwestern Psychological Association, and the Louisiana Psychological Association.
