On January 28, two psychology faculty members were honored at the University's Research Recognition Ceremony for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 academic years.

Dr. Amy Brown was recognized as an Outstanding Undergraduate Research Mentor from the College of Liberal Arts for the year 2017-2018, and Dr. Miachale McDermott was recognized as a Rising Star from the College of Liberal Arts for the year 2018-2019. Outstanding undergraduate research mentors are "those who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to undergraduate students and their advancement as undergraduate researchers." The Rising Star award recognizes "junior faculty members showing great promise in scholarship."

The Office of Research had been unable to present awards last year, so this year's ceremony included twice the typical number of awardees.
