Semester-by-Semester Plan

All students will take the same set of courses in their first semester, but you will have flexibility in selecting courses for subsequent semesters. Below is a suggestion for semester-by-semester course selection.

The program is set up to take two years (i.e., from August of your incoming year to May of your second year), but this varies depending primarily on thesis productivity and on availability for summer coursework. On average, our graduates are awarded their degrees at around 2.25 years (i.e., at the end of their second summer).

First semester

Second semester

  • PSYC 513 (3 credits)
  • Extended core course (3 credits)
  • Elective course (3 credits)

Third semester

  • Extended core course (3 credits)

Fourth semester

  • Extended core course (3 credits)
