Transfer Plan
If you are transferring to UL Lafayette from another college or university, you should make sure all prior transcripts have been sent to UL Lafayette. Transfer credit is evaluated in the registrar's office. If you are still waiting for your transfer credit to be evaluated, you can view resources provided by the registrar's office to help determine how your classes will likely transfer.
Important note for students transferring to UL Lafayette from SLCC starting Fall 2020 or later: If you took both General Psychology (PSYC 2010 and 2011) courses at SLCC, PSYC 2010 will transfer ast PSYC 110 and will satisfy a major requirement. PSYC 2011 will transfer as PSYC 209 and be counted as a psychology elective. PSYC 209 is no longer a required psychology course starting in Fall 2020.
If you are already a student at UL Lafayette and are interested in changing your major to Psychology, you should visit the Academic Success Center in Lee Hall to initiate the change of major if you are currently in Junior Division (have earned less than 60 hours of credit); if you are in Upper Division (earned 60 hours or more of college credit), you should go to the College of Liberal Arts office in 101 Griffin Hall to initiate the change of major. It is also a good idea to meet with an academic advisor in the psychology department to discuss your decision to change your major. Advisor information can be found on the advising page.
