The Psychology Department at UL Lafayette is looking to hire two Visiting Assistant Professors for the 2025-2026 Academic Year. Qualified applicants will have a doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology by August 2025. Prior teaching experience at the college level and research experience are highly desirable.

Duties will include teaching 3 courses a semester in learning/behavior, psychopathology, research methods, and other courses consistent with expertise. In addition, successful candidates will be required to participate in departmental activities, such as serving on departmental committees and engaging in academic advising; to contribute to mentorship of graduate students; and to develop or advance a program of research.

UL Lafayette, the largest school in the University of Louisiana System, is located in the heart of Louisiana’s Cajun country. The University was recently designated an R1 research institution by the Carnegie Classification system. The psychology department includes 16 full-time faculty members, more than 700 undergraduate majors seeking bachelor of science degrees with concentrations in psychology and psychology pre-med, and approximately 30 graduate students in our pre-doctoral general psychology masters program.
