The Psychology Department has recently welcomed several new faculty members.
Spring 2018 Top Graduates Honored
Fri, 03/09/2018 - 12:18pmAt Psychology Day on March 5 this year, the Psychology Department formally announced the winners of the Hait-Lewis and Outstanding Graduate Awards.
Olivia Manceaux is this semester's Outstanding Graduate. Olivia is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Political Science. She is a member of the Honors Program and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Olivia has engaged in numerous community service efforts during her undergraduate career; some of the organizations she has lent her time to include the Back the Blue Law Enforcement Organization and St. Anne's Catholic Church. Olivia is also a recipient of the Tom & Lena Ritchie Pre-Law Scholarship; she plans to attend law school next year, with the goal of becoming an attorney and using her knowledge of psychology to benefit the legal system.
Savannah D'Aubin is this semester's winner of the Hait-Lewis Award for Academic Excellence in Psychology. Savannah, who is minoring in Business, is in the Honors program and is a member of Psi Chi, Psychology Colloquium, NAMI and the Grief Awareness Association. She has worked on research with Dr. MacGyvers and with Dr. Breaux, and will be presenting a poster at the upcoming Southwestern Psychological Association conference. She works as a mental heath tech for New Horizons and has volunteered as a tutor for elementary school children. Savannah hopes to obtain a master’s degree in social work and work to improve the foster care system.
The Psychology Department is very proud of these two students, is thrilled to have them among the excellent Spring 2018 graduates, and wishes them all the best in their future endeavors.
