Congratulations to Dr. Rick Perkins, who recently received an award for Outstanding Achievement for his work with Better Options Initiative. Dr. Perkins has been facilitating a New Beginnings group for dads undergoing divorce and custody-related legal proceedings. These groups focus on behavior modification and parenting skills, improving emotional warmth and communication, and protecting kids from conflict. Dr. Perkins has been recognized for the successes of the groups he facilitates.
Better Options Initiative is closing operations, but Dr. Perkins plans to continue working with the New Beginnings program, which will now be part of the Family Tree Counseling Center.
