This Fall, Dr. Erika Caramillo-Hatch is starting her first semester as a tenure-track assistant professor in the Psychology Department. However, Dr. Caramillo-Hatch (or "Dr. C" to her students) is not new to the department. Dr. Caramillo-Hatch joined the department as a Visiting Assistant Professor in 2019 and worked three years in that role.

Dr. Caramillo-Hatch is the director of the Zebrafish Lab, where she studies memory processes, particulary those related to Alzheimer's Disease, using a zebrafish model.

Dr. Caramillo-Hatch earned her PhD from the University of Southern MIssissippi. She teaches courses in Physiological Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, and statistics and research methods.
